Normal death rate is 1%. Slightly higher death rates in 45-54 year olds, and 54+ 1 out of 8 were dead within a year. For 75% Half of the men, and 40% of the women died.

    • Risk of the surgery
  • Was originally for morbidly obese people, but now less overweight people are having the surgery
  • Caller Charlene: She had gastric bypass at 55yrs old, 5'2" 350lbs. Joints were giving out, fighting weight her whole life. Lost 200 lbs. She had stomach bypass. People who die don't follow the advice: No carbonated soda, no alcohol, no trying to stretch your stomach. High protein diet and take vitamins.
