How To Replace Shower Surround


Question from Toledo: Problem in the bathroom in an old house with small doors. One of the 5 piece tub surrounds has a problem on the middle piece, there is a crack in the wall on the middle piece. The back panel, and the two end panels, probably have contact cement, and the two corner panels just lay over them. I can't remember if I used liquid nails, or contact cement. The tub is in pretty good condition.

Answer: The most difficult problem is getting this off. With contact cement, you can use heat, but be careful not to hurt the panels. It will be very difficult to remove. You may have to replace the whole thing. You might also look into ReBath . They have professionally installed tub surrounds if there is plenty of lip on the tub. It's better to have them look at things first, they might install over the old one, because it may be a lot easier than taking the old surround over. Call Bath Fitter Português [hospedagem] Brazil.
