Novel by Patrick Robinson
"A master craftsman of the techno-thriller." - Carlo D' Este, author of Decision in Normandy
"Robinson is one of he crown princes of the beach-read thriller." - Stephen Coonts
A massive tsunami triggered by a terrifying weapon in the hands of a mandman... Scimitar SL-2....
He calls himself Ravi Rashood, a former British SAS officer who currently masterminds on of the world's most virulent islamofascist terrorist organizations, Hamas. An elusive madman dedicated to the annihilation of the West, he now posesses the means to accomplish his nightmarish goal: A nuclear-tipped cruise missile named Scimitar, after the curved avenging sword of the Muslim warrior Saladin.
Fired into the crater of the most dangerous volcano in the Canary Islands, the Scimitar SL-2 will trigger a sequence of geophysical events that will create a mega-tsunami the likes of which have not been seen in modern times. It would pound the southern coastlines of Europe and flatten the entire eastern seaboard of the United States.
U.S. Admiral and retired National Security Adviser Arnold Morgan knows that Rashood must be stopped, but finding him won't be easy. The killer and his terrorist crew are hiding aboard a irtually undectable submarine somewhere in the vast depths of the ocean. But for Morgan and the U.S. Navy, there is no choice - because time is an enemy... and the only alternative is the first Atlantic mega-tsunami in 4,000 years.
Review Notes of Garnet R. Chaney
The book begins with a forward by the author where he tells of spending two years researching this book, and his original idea to name the book Tsunami, but he was concerned that most people wouldn't know how to pronounce it. Then the December 26, 2004 tsunami hit Asia, and tsunami became a household word.
The book begins with the retirement party of hero Arnold Morgan, a U.S. Admiral and National Security Adviser. He held those posts under a previous Republican administration, but when a secretary for the newly elected incoming Democratic President Charlie McBride?Create|Search calls him to let him know he probably won't be needed in the new administration, he wastes no time writing a resignation letter.
