Snoring

Img34.png

Snoring means that the resistance to airflow is high. The sleeping person will suck harder to maintain their airflow. As the airflow increases, the tissue vibrates. Snoring is the music of the night.

Loud snoring means there is a complete collapse of the airway. If there is a pause, and then snoring that is loud, that is an apnea. Treatment ends the snoring immediately: Continuous nasal airway pressure is maintained by imposing positive air pressure.

There are also surgical treatments available for snoring.
